Chris Edward’s at newelectronics writes a great in-depth piece of the increasing demands for embedded observability, interviewing Percepio founder Johan Kraft, alongside other domain thought leaders, such as Francois Baldassari with Nordic Semiconductor (previously Memfault) and Ricardo Camacho at Parasoft.

“Traditional observability techniques homed in on events at the RTOS level and analysing the coredumps collected after a reset or, more frequently today, on demand. Today, agents in the target can collect and report events that can focus on higher-level events.
“Our tracing is not limited to RTOS kernel events but can also include custom logging and multiple separate log files, like AI inference inputs and outputs,” Kraft explains.”
